GAMEWORKS, INC. UNVEILS THE WORKS KITCHEN, A CHEF-DRIVEN RESTAURANT CONCEPT INSIDE ITS SEVEN LOCATIONS

Eclectic Take on Traditional Bar Fare to Transform Entertainment Concept’s Food Focus and Guests’ Food Experience

SAN FRANCISCO … October 9, 2018 … GameWorks, Inc., a full entertainment and dining experience for millennials, teens and families with seven locations nationwide, announced today the unveiling of its eclectic, chef-driven restaurant concept, The Works Kitchen at GameWorksacross all its seven locations.

The Works Kitchen at GameWorks was imagined and created by Chef Tony Leitera who brings a 20-year culinary career to his new role as corporate executive chef. Prior to joining GameWorks in January 2018, Leitera collaborated with Guy Fieri on operating and expanding his branded locations.

At The Works Kitchen at GameWorks, guests can enjoy selections from a varied menu that takes a Modern American spin on bar classics while also featuring hearty specialties and healthy options. The upscale food offering incorporates a contemporary approach to traditional favorites across a large variety of appetizers, handhelds (specialty burgers and sandwiches), salads and desserts.

Menu creations span, among many others, The Works’ very own “Twists,” an array of Bavarian pretzels; hand-stretched artisanal pizzas; savory snacks, such as buffalo-fried cauliflower; spiced and seared yellow fin tuna sashimi; and, dry-rubbed wings. Handheld specialties include the signature Works burger, a grilled cheese-stuffed 1.5-pound double burger, complemented with Sam Adams BBQ sauce and the notable plant-based Impossible™Burger, a popular gourmet vegetarian option.

To top off the meal, there are several extraordinary, mouth-watering milkshakes, such as the Frozen Brunch, a vanilla milkshake which boasts bacon, a Belgian waffle and maple syrup; the Movie Theater, a chocolate milkshake complete with red-rope licorice, caramel popcorn, chocolate candy and whipped cream; or, the Unicorn, a rainbow sherbet milkshake with rock candy and cotton candy, topped with a sugar cone.

“The launch of The Works Kitchen at GameWorks is an exciting development for our entertainment brand. We are placing a strong emphasis on the food we offer our guests, and with our exciting restaurant concept, we are completing elevating their dining experience. The menu at The Works Kitchen at GameWorks features a large selection of items, all done with a modern twist that makes our offering different and incomparable to the typical, traditional food and bar fare found at most entertainment concepts today. We believe there is something for everyone, and our food-forward fare caters to all ages and tastes,” Leitera said.

“At GameWorks, guests can have a complete entertainment experience in which food plays a major role. With this distinctive restaurant concept we’ve created, GameWorks is fast-building a reputation as an entertainment and eSports destination, and stands to soon become recognized for our food as well. Currently, we serve thousands of meals weekly to guests frequenting our restaurants throughout the nation, and The Works Kitchen at GameWorks will now appeal to an even broader audience,” Leitera said.

GameWorks’ Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Philip N. Kaplan, added: “We want our guests to enjoy a complete entertainment experience when they come to any of our GameWorks locations, which includes indulging in our restaurant, participating or watching eSports in our eSports Lounges, playing our wide variety of arcade games, and enjoying some of our specialty entertainment options, such as laser tag or bowling. The resurgence of our food offering will further differentiate GameWorks as The Works Kitchen at GameWorks takes food at entertainment concepts to a completely new level.”

Chef Tony Leitera began his culinary career training at Wolfgang Puck restaurants. He went on to open Cafe Deco in the Venetian Hotel & Casino in Macau, China, which features cuisines from around the world. He also was a member of the corporate training and chef team at The Capital Grille Las Vegas before transitioning into the role of executive chef partner at The Capital Grille Indianapolis. Chef Leitera worked with the Indianapolis Colts at Lucas Oil stadium before being recruited back to his home town of Las Vegas to open Guy Fieri’s Vegas Kitchen + Bar at the LINQ Hotel and Casino.  Company Strengthens Leadership to Execute Entertainment Concept’s
Strategic Growth Plans on Heels of New Ownership

SAN FRANCISCO … September 5, 2018 … GameWorks, Inc., a full entertainment and dining experience for families, teens and millennials with seven locations nationwide, announced today that ExWorks Capital has assumed full ownership of the Company and appointed new leadership. ExWorks has been a lender to GameWorks since 2017, and recently restructured its investment, giving it full control of the Company. Concurrent with the change in corporate ownership, Philip N. Kaplan brings nearly 30 years of diverse business operational experience at both public and private companies to his new leadership role. He has established a proven track record in leading strategic operations and helping companies scale to achieve rapid growth. Over the course of his extensive career, Kaplan held myriad management positions in which he directed efforts surrounding corporate mergers, acquisitions, integrations and reorganizations.

Most recently, Kaplan served as managing partner of April Mountain Properties, LLC, a family owned real-estate company that owns and operates residential rental properties. During his five years in this role, he grew the business substantially. Kaplan was president, chief operating officer and Board member at VitalStream until the February 2007 acquisition. He was then instrumental in the transition and integration of the two entities. Currently, Kaplan is a member of the board of directors of the online action sports company, Surfline.com.

Kaplan replaces Greg Stevens, who served as GameWorks’ chief executive officer for six years.

With Phil at the helm, we see an enormous opportunity to capitalize on this explosive market acceptance of entertainment concepts by growing the GameWorks brand and footprint. We look forward to the contributions he will make in his new leadership role,” noted Randall Abrahams, ExWorks’ executive chairman.

“Joining the GameWorks leadership team allows me to bring a fresh and dynamic new vision to the Company, one that is focused on ensuring our guests have extraordinary, energetic and fun experiences when visiting our locations. “Since its founding more than 20 years ago, GameWorks has become recognized as a top destination for fun, food, excitement and a wide variety of games and eSports, where we have become widely recognized for our distinctive eSports Lounges. GameWorks will look to leverage the strength of our management and on-site location teams as well as our industry expertise to drive the future direction of our brand,” Kaplan concluded.
