Prizing Policy Update - Effective October 2020
In an effort to always improve the online and Quick Hits experience for GameWorks esports community members, we have updated our policy regarding prizing. Our goal has always been to provide our community with a fun and safe environment to play, improve, and engage with others, while remaining compliant to federal tax codes. The following changes have been approved by the finance/compliance leadership at GameWorks and are effective immediately:
US Players: Any US players who win more than $600 in a calendar year will be required to complete a Form W-9 at the time in which they will cross the $600 threshold. All players will still be required to fill out and submit a personal information form, and players 17 or younger are required to fill out and submit a parent/guardian consent form. For more information CLICK HERE.
Non-US Players All Non-US Players who win ANY AMOUNT are required to complete Form W-8BEN or country specific documentation prior to receiving prizing. Prizing deductions may be made in accordance with a specific country's laws. For more information CLICK HERE.
